It can be said that Dashti's instinct and intuition are the driving force behind the formation of these paintings.

With this in mind, the artist, by conscious choice or accident, engages with the environment and in a spontaneous fashion constructs a painting. Dashti's paintings have the quality of ongoing works of art, in a constant state of evolution.

In his practice Mostafa Dashti attempts to present his consciousness through raw emotion, stimulating the viewer's bare instincts. The viewer, prompted by colours and compositions, develops a human interaction with the artist; trying to understand such works using accepted methods of analysis and interpretation would not achieve a satisfactory result.

Freedom, wether conceptual or practical, in the realm of new art and specially abstract art overshadows all else and imposes itself on the reality at large.

For Mostafa Dashti, creating abstract painting in particular, and his sensitivity in use of colour in general, is to transcend solid forms and conventional standards, to express life through color and harmony with vibrant emotions at the forefront.

Abstract painting is the painter's map of emotions, in Dashti's case controlled by colour. Naturally, what goes on in the painter’s mind, his ideas and thoughts play a great role in creating a painting. However as the artist masters the translation of the language of emotion into colour, the artwork would gain in consistency and integrity.

Only time can judge the depth and richness of the artist's emotion.
