Bavan Art Gallery was founded in 2017 by Ava Ayoubi. The first exhibition of the gallery before the renovation of its building was a site-specific event titled “Revision at the House on Abdeh St”. The management council of Bavan spent a year for reconstructing the building, research and planning. In the fall of 2018, the building was ready to open to the public. Bavan Gallery started its work with a focus on new experiences and new approaches in contemporary art and has always been striving to show the achievements of contemporary Iranian art. This gallery is a mediator between dynamic field of Iranian contemporary art and the international market, and in addition to holding exhibitions, it also organizes discussion and review sessions and educational workshops, and by this it tries to strengthen the critical discourse around Iranian art. Bavan Gallery is currently active with 4 exhibition spaces: ground floor, first floor, pool and basement.
