Intersection: Thereafter, the moment of transformation of shedding one’s skin is a kind of birth that happens repeatedly after our initial entry into the world. Unlike biological birth, this unfolding occurs gradually over a lifetime. Because of this, neither we nor others remember this creative moment as a single point in time. But perhaps we can envision it within a metaphorical landscape. Transformation might appear as an explosion, emerge through seeing a new image in the mirror, or arise from the complex web of circumstances. What remains is the confusion of facing the moment of “Thereafter” a state hanging between what has been and what we do not yet know will become.
