Shahriar Ahmadi, a contemporary painter and one of the young generations of the Iranian artists, was born in Kermanshah in 1979. He was a self-taught calligraphy artist before being professionally trained. Ahmadi's professional career began in 1997 when he entered the Boys Visual Arts Academy in Kermanshah and held his first group exhibition in 2000. He entered Tehran University of Art and completed his bachelor's and master's degree in painting (class of 2000 and 2005) in this university. Ahmadi's first solo exhibition was held in Berg Gallery in 2000. After that, he has organized other solo exhibitions in collaboration with Elahe and Golestan galleries. Ahmadi has had more than 15 solo exhibitions in Tehran, Zurich, Lucerne, Dubai, Istanbul and Marbella and has held more than 150 group exhibitions in Iran, Switzerland, France, England, United States of America, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Japan, Venezuela, Lebanon, Kuwait, Germany, China, Italy and Spain.
Shahryar Ahmadi is one of the contemporary artists whose work was very successful and entered international circles. It was in 1378 that in his first overseas experience, his arts were exhibited in a solo exhibition at the B21 Gallery in Dubai, and two years after that, at the AB Gallery in Lucerne, Switzerland hosted his works. Participating in the "Wishes and Dreams" exhibition at the Meridian Cultural Center in Washington DC and attending the Beijing Art Expo were two of his other international experiences in 2015. In 1995, Ahmadi won the first prize of painting in Asia and the Pacific, and in 2002, he won the first place in the international youth competition in Tehran.
Ahmadi's works are kept in prestigious private and government collections and museums. In 2010, he was invited by the Art Bridge Foundation to Lucerne, Switzerland, and in 2015, he participated in the Venice Biennale. Shahriar Ahmadi's first appearance in auctions dates back to September 2009 at Phillips auction house. His works have appeared many times in other auctions such as Tehran auction. He has also been active as an art teacher in the academic environment. The headship of the painting department of Jihad University Art Department in Tehran since 2000 and the headship of the painting department of the Art Department of Applied Science University since 2009 are visible in his academic record.
Ahmadi has been working as a lecturer and head of the painting department of Karaj Scientific and Applied University since 2013. He works and lives in Jahanshahr Karaj.
