Hamed Sahihi was born in 1980 in Tehran. He received his bachelor's degree in painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts and then entered Tehran University of Art for his master's degree. The first solo show of Sahihi's works was held at Afarand Gallery in 1997. He has had over 20 solo shows in his career and has participated in more than 40 domestic and foreign group shows.
Sahihi learned painting from his father when he was a child, and from age sixteen, he continued his art education by attending Hannibal Alkhas classes. His works have a surrealistic atmosphere. Every painting seems to be filled with a world of endless dreams and fantasies. Sahihi's works are focused on the artist's mental function. The idea of Sahihi's dreams brings freedom to work, and innovative ideas and concepts are born from this. Sahihi's works have a fluid flow of aesthetic criteria and themes. His recent collection titled "Dream Interpretation" is based on the ideas of Sigmund Freud, which examines the impact of the political and social environment on the human unconscious in general and artists in particular.
Philosophical and psychological concepts play a prominent role in Sahihi's visual world. Social issues have been more or less the concern of this artist. In one of his collections, "Ahead of the Line," he critically reviews news and media bombardment. Sahihi, who participated in Abbas Kiarostami's classes for a period, has also had experiences in video art and animation. He uses various mediums, such as video, sculpture, and painting, to express his concerns.
