Ali Nasir was born in 1951 in Tehran. After completing high school, he left Iran at the age of 23 and eventually settled in Berlin, a city where he continues to live and work to this day. In 1978, he enrolled at the Berlin University of the Arts and ultimately completed his studies in painting there in 1983.
Nasir's first solo exhibition was held at the Golestan Gallery in 1993. Since then, he has consistently showcased his work in galleries in Tehran, Dubai, Berlin, and other cities. In recent years, his artistic activities have been primarily focused on O Art Gallery in Tehran
In recent years, Ali Nasir's work has leaned more towards abstraction, although traces of figurative art were evident in his earlier periods. Nasir typically works with vibrant colors. His works are characterized by energetic compositions and diverse visual interactions, which convey a great deal of energy and force to the viewer. This aspect allows for an examination of various influences in his works. This very feature distinguishes Ali Nasir's works from those of his contemporaries and artists before and after him.
