Vahid Mohammadi was born in November 1982. He spent most of his childhood and teenage years in Zanjan city in what he calls, an atmosphere of "poetic spirit". His art experiences began in small cultural groups in his hometown and he continued to study painting in university. He believes experiencing the art university and mingling with art students had a deep impact on his life and gave him a better understanding of artistic career. At first glance; Light and darkness, experiments in coloring and contemplation about the concept of "accident" in art constitute the main theme of Vahid's late works. What he calls "the reconstruction of abstract space", In his own words: "For me Building up means to decrease the probability of accidents to the lowest possible limits and that’s what I do. I control accidents. I’m looking to find a way in which I can paint a landscape and a street corner with the same approach."
The world of Vahid's works is in a miscellaneous and faded state. Like a distant image that is close, rich in intimate and obscure colors with an almost musical expression. His mental representation of reality stands outside of time and space and creates a void where "nature, cities and roads" meet and connect with each other. For him, abstraction is not creating an unknown reality. It is more like organizing the chaos of surrounding world and making music pieces in which colors, while representing objects and things, also narrate the free flowing of the artist's mind.
Vahid puts his waking hours and thoughts or what can be called a soliloquy or inner conversations on the canvas. Painting for him is more a way of meditating, a kind of deep reflection on world. However, this method does not intend to create a discernible language with predefined codes. It becomes something more like a poem where words are colors and concepts are feelings that need to be seen and understood. At the end of the way, painting becomes an expedition voyage to better understand the basis of our senses and a journey to discover the origin of things. His works, while sometimes representing apparently familiar things and concepts outside of themselves, can be endlessly interpreted. Vahid started his long journey with an abstract representation of objects and landscapes in his first works, and now he is recording and displaying all things that are invisible. Showing rather than talking about the very experience of existing in the world.
"Roads and flowers are lost", creates a new window for observing the world around, without the limitations of the observer's eye.
This collection is an invitation to a deeper observation, free from the usual constraints and previous assumptions and limitations so that we can understand the objects and other phenomena around us in a novel, creative and different way. It is Like stepping on an unknown path that seeks to answer the question:
What is the meaning of our daily life experiences?
And the answer waiting at the end could be nothing or too many things.
