Jinoos Taghizadeh, born in Tehran in 1971, is a prominent painter and conceptual artist. She earned a diploma in graphic design from Azadegan High School in 1988 and studied dramatic literature at the Niavaran Cultural Center. Although initially interested in writing, she switched to sculpture in 1991 and graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Tehran University in 2000. Her early career was in theater and set design, but by the mid-1990s, she began exploring new art forms. In 2003, she showcased her work in Café Konj and various public spaces in Tehran and Isfahan.
Taghizadeh's art often addresses political and social issues, women's rights, and environmental concerns. One of her most notable series, "Have You Heard Anything?", critically examines environmental issues.
Some of her significant works include the video and 3D illustration "Rock, Paper, Scissors" at Aaran Gallery, the installation "Self-Portrait of Konsthof" at the Konsthof Academy in Switzerland, the video "Messages" at Azad Art Gallery, and the street performance "About Forough Farrokhzad." She also created the "Self-portraits of Abū Rayḥān" at Aria Gallery, performed "Vow" in front of Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque in Isfahan, made the short film "The Wind Blows in the Alley" for the Winterthur Theater Festival in Switzerland, and presented an installation "For Bam" at the IranShahr Theater. Her work has been featured in the first conceptual art exhibition at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art and the Third Tehran Sculpture Biennial at the Niavaran Cultural Center.
Taghizadeh is also the author of "Non-Dubliners," a book of forty short stories and illustrations meant for coloring. This work earned her an artist residency in Dublin and publication by the Royal Hibernian Academy.
Beyond her art, Taghizadeh has served on the selection committee for the Fourth Tehran Sculpture Biennial, worked as managing editor and editorial board member of Mojasame Magazine, contributed to Tehran Avenue's online magazine, and written articles for various art publications.
