Shahpari Behzadi was born in 1973 in Tehran. She received a diploma in graphics from Tehran Azadegan Conservatory and then graduated from Tehran Azad University. After his studies, he went to Slovakia and Hungary to focus on painting and participated in several art residencies.
Besides painting, Shahpari Behzadi has also taught art and has a long history of teaching painting to children. She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions and has collaborated with galleries such as Assar, Etemad, Shirin and e1 art gallery.
From the beginning she has focused on abstract art and has never changed her style. In the beginning her work was subject based but they soon moved to formal abstraction. She works on square and circle forms, large paintings in which texture is the main element, specific divisions which combine form and space into one unified painting.
During different periods one can see the presence of subject in her work but in general by focusing on the process one notices a refined image being portrayed. Her latest series is based on the geometry and abstract forms of historical buildings and Persian architecture, compositions, motifs and small elements in these.
