Born in 1983 in Casablanca, Said Afifi is a visual artist and videographer. Trained at the National Institute of Fine Arts in Tetouan and at Le Fresnoy – National Studio of Contemporary Arts (France), his pictorial work is nourished by science fiction and the world of video games. Afifi has been exploring postmodern architecture since 2012 by adding a chaotic dimension to it, questioning what led to the advent of ultra-modernist architecture. Afifi has exhibited at the Institut du Monde Arabe and the Cité des Arts in Paris, as well as at the 'Parallel Projects' of the Marrakech Biennale in Morocco. He was also selected for the Gwangju Biennial in Korea.
