Mohammad Farnood, an Iranian photographer, was born in Semnan in 1957. He started his photojournalism career in 1976 with Kayhan newspaper, and then, during the war he established a wide archive of photographs of the Iran-Iraq war.
Mohammad Farnood has won many awards in domestic and international competitions during his career. Among them are 2 news photography awards from the World Press Photo World News Photography Competition in 1982 and 1991, in which he was participated with photos of the Iran-Iraq war and the 1990 Manjil–Rudbar earthquake. The photos of this photographer have also been published in international publications.
Mohammad Farnood is fond of photojournalism and continues this activity in addition to teaching and holding exhibitions. Morteza Momayez wrote in a book called Kelk that "Franood sees human violence, nature and life and shows it to others around the world with his photos and warns".
