Meysam Nejad Rasouli majored in Handicraft and studied painting with Hanibal Alkhas. He began his career as a painting and drawing educator in 2005 and has been participating in more than a hundred group exhibitions in countries such as Georgia, Turkey and Emirates; including galleries such as Etemad, Georgia Culture, and Art House, Art is Here (Istanbul), Dubai, Azad, Art Center, Artists’ Forum, Arasbaran, Laleh, Afrand, Andisheh, Ivan Sepid, Aban, Ava, Arte, Shila, Pardis Mellat, Dargon and Artibition and solo exhibitions at galleries Mehrin (2005), Azad (2000), Shila (2014), Vista (2018) and Artibition (2020). Among his artistic work, there are also performances at Fajr Theater Festival, Soureh University, Sabalan Gallery, Experimental Performances of City Theater Cultural Complex in 2007.
Artistic Biography
Meysam has depicted various subjects in his artworks and is usually engaged in expressive artistic methods in illustration. His open artistic interpretation is often inspired by classic literature, Persian epopees, and poems, and collections such as illustrations inspired by Hafiz poems, Hafiz-e-Jan, Khosrow & Shirin, Arash the Archer people are among his works. He has a critical and sarcastic point of view toward social events in the collections the Busy city, Agent-Excused-Delighted, Origami of Freedom, and Oh, people. The main elements of his canvas are depicted as paper shapes and figures, in some cases, his origamis turn into a rock and sometimes to a cloud. He’s not afraid of changing his canvas material, using various new techniques and experiments to create his art, and designing the works by a new method. The collections Froty pieces and Arash the Archer are among his other collections and a result of working with children through multiple years where childish freedom and boldness are manifested. The Landscape collection is a set of small paintings of nature. The Ancient Cedar Three collection is an exploration of personal techniques with a hint of Iranian elements such as cedar and myths.
