Mashallah Mohammadi is a painter and animator born in 1969 in Sanandaj. His paintings are often expressive and have bright colors.
Mohammadi is a graduate of the Tehran University of Art painting and was also a student of Ruyin Pakbaz. He learned different painting styles from this artist and eventually created his own kind. The first solo exhibition of Mashallah Mohammadi was held in 2001 at Elaheh Gallery in Tehran. At the age of 53, he started working in animation and has won more than 10 international and more than 20 awards at the level of Iran. He appeared in the Tehran auction for the first time with the painting "Bright Windows" and was well received so much that in the end, this work was sold for twice the auction's estimated price.
Many of Mashallah Mohammadi's works are figures from the people of Kurdistan, in local dress, often depicted in bright and strong colors. Of course, in another category of this artist's paintings, the figures are drawn with gray, black, and generally dark colors, and sometimes they are in clear contrast with the colored background of the work. The influential role that color plays in Mashallah Mohammadi's works is undeniable; As he says: "I believe in the influence of paint, and I have worked in this regard, and I do not see the need to sacrifice color to form. I give more independence to color in the basics and principles that I follow to create a work of painting." I don't use color in the sense of coloring a form, but I try to make it have its own character and essence, have an independent function, be effective, and have a distinct sense of itself." In animation, he prefers a simple view and away from any unnecessary complexity to express various topics. The peak of his satisfaction in animation is access to a special and unique technique and a sober look with a detailed examination of problems.
