Hossein Cheragchi, a painter, was born in Karaj in 1984. Cheragchi studied painting in the art department of Jahad University and received a bachelor's degree. He started his career by appearing in Dey Gallery and then became famous by exhibiting his artworks in Golestan Gallery. In 2016, he held two exhibitions six months apart, and the sales of his works in the second exhibition increased by 100% (double the first exhibition). Leili Golestan mentioned Cheragchi as the new achievement of Golestan Gallery in the last decade, around 2006. In 2009, this artist's first international appearance was at the "Magic of Persia Contemporary Art Award" in London. Hossein Chثragchi has been a member of the Development of Visual Arts since 2006 and a member of the Iranian Painters Association since 2011. Cheragchi has participated in more than 50 group shows and more than 15 individual exhibitions of his works. During his professional activity, this artist has also taught painting.
The subject of his paintings is often landscape or still life. Cheragchi's work style is always between abstraction and representation. During some periods, the abstract aspect prevails over the representative ones, and his paintings move to the threshold of pure abstraction. This painter's specific form and attitude and his unique color textures have become a factor in distinguishing Cheragchi's works from many other artists of his generation. In the landscape paintings of this artist, the exciting and action-like waves and dashes evoke a ghost of natural elements in the viewer's mind. On the one hand, his behavior with the subjects of his representation is reminiscent of the method of the impressionists who recorded the visual impact of the surrounding world, and on the other hand, his emotional behavior with paint is close to expressionist methods. In his artworks, the colors gradually reach sensory autonomy, turning from the external subject to the artist's inner feelings.
Cheragchi's works have appeared in domestic auctions four times until August 2022. All four works by this artist have been sold. His first appearance was on January 3, 2015, in the sixth Tehran auction. An untitled painting by Cheragchi was offered in the Tehran auction on August 12, 2021, and sold at 2600 dollars.
