Donya Rostami was born in 1982 in Tehran. She studied painting at Tehran University of Art and wrote her thesis under the supervision of Mohammad Ebrahim Jafari.
Donya Rostami showed interest in painting since she was a child until she attended Mohammad Ebrahim Jafari's classes at the age of 11 and chose painting as her life path. Rostami's works have been displayed in various exhibitions, the most important of which is her solo exhibition called "Qarachokha" at Mah Gallery.
Donya Rostami's late works have complex compositions that serve to narrate these works. The existence of figures with different dimensions along with panels in unusual cuts, brings the atmosphere of the works closer to storytelling. Rostami says that she has a story-telling mind. She tries to make each of her paintings have an independent narrative and create a general narrative together.
