Artwork Description

Zenderoudi's fascination with the Farsi letter form has led him to produce works celebrating the distinct aesthetic of Persian calligraphy. By using heavy repetition, vivid hues and rendering a dense composition, Zenderoudi paints a rich tapestry where the meanings of words are superseded by their visual significance. In the present work, the distinct colour scheme resembles Safavid Persian blue and white pottery, while simultaneously alluding to the entwining of the celestial and the earthly, forming an overall aesthetic concurrent with Zenderoudi's devotion to the Persian neo-classical tradition.
