Amir Ali Javadian is one of Iran's prominent war photographers. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in photography in 1989 and received his doctorate in art in 2004.
Amir Ali Javadian was a photographer who started his professional activity through the Hozeh Honari institute and joined a movement that pursued a kind of artistic commitment and accompanied the actions of the revolution and, later, the eight-year war. Javadian, who worked as a photographer for the Islamic Republic News Agency, went to the southern fronts when the Iran-Iraq war started. A trip that determined his artistic destiny and made him one of the most famous documentary photographers in Iran. He was present at the fronts until 1986 and accompanied significant war operations with his cameras, such as the conquest of Khorramshahr and Ramadan. Javadian returned to Tehran in 1986 and entered the university again. After some time, he started teaching photography at the university, and for a while, he was in charge of the photography department at Islamic Azad University. In addition, he has taught at Al-Zahra University and Tehran Faculty of Fine Arts in his educational record. His documentary photos of battlefields were also accepted in international festivals and were exhibited in different countries. A process that brought him outstanding awards, including the UNESCO award. He also managed to get a first-class artistic award from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. Javadian has also held many positions in art management and was a member of the founding board of the Association of Photographers of the Revolution and Holy Defense and the National Association of Photographers of Iran.
