Throughout his six decades of continuous and systematic artistic practice, Vaziri Moghaddam has showcased one of the most authentic examples of modernist art in Iran which is best manifested in his abstractionism.
From his perspective the unprecedented revolution in 20th -century painting created by abstraction was “a transformation that created a gateway to liberate humanity from the shackles of traditions and present its inner realities through visual imagination.” He does not see art separate from human life and believes that the practice of art is directly derived from life experiences: “I am looking for depth, human emotions, and deep thought. Painting is a philosophy, knowledge, and insight of an individual at a particular time that is conveyed to the viewer. Now that my eyes have become impaired, I work on another type of abstraction which has a cosmic nature beyond the ordinary nature and life.”
In these works which belong to the last two decades of the artist's life, he explores absolute abstraction. The effects of his gradual loss of vision can be seen in the fading lines and dominance of white surfaces that have emerged in his field of vision, disrupting his sight.
