Sara Aryanpour, a contemporary painter, was born in Tehran. She completed her bachelor's degree in painting at Soureh University of Tehran and graduated in 2006. In 2000, Arianpour presented her paintings for the first time in a group exhibition at Shafagh Cultural Center in Tehran. Her first solo exhibition was at Tehran's Tarahane-e-Azad Gallery in 2007. Aryanpour's first international experience occurred three years later at Artemisia Studio in Italy, and her works were exhibited individually. The same year, her artworks were shown in another group exhibition in Pasha, Italy. In 2012, another solo exhibition of this painter was held at Dey Gallery in Tehran. Also, in 2012, Aryanpour won a prize in the "Art and Integration" exhibition in Pasha, Italy. She has also been a member of the Association of Iranian Painters.
The human figure is always present in Aryanpour's paintings. These figures are sometimes depicted as a single person and sometimes in the form of collective compositions. Her way of dealing with the figures is reminiscent of Zabehi paintings. Her brushstrokes are faithful to the artist's sense and psychological expression of the figures rather than exacting or realism. The crude effect of these brushstrokes creates an expression, especially of the human body, and exaggerates the postures and expressions of the face and body. The figures are often depicted screaming or in a depressed state, which adds to the expressive side of her paintings. In most of this painter's works, the background is covered with black or dark color spectrums, and the figures sit in the foreground using different degrees of gray or other color options, such as purple and yellow.
