Raana Farnoud was born in 1953 in Mashhad, Iran. She received her Diploma in Painting from the Girls’ School of Fine Arts in Tehran in 1971 and earned a B.A. in English from Tehran’s Advanced School of Translation in 1975. She held her first exhibition in 1988 at the Seyhoun Gallery, Tehran and subsequently participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions in Tehran, Shiraz, Dubai, London, and Beijing.
Her works represent a masterful blend of figurative and abstract approaches, employing a unique visual language to explore the psyche and inner world of her subjects. Farnoud’s figurative paintings go beyond mere representation, portraying the internal struggles and connections of individuals with depth and nuance.
