Mostafa Sarabi, born in 1982 in Kermanshah, Iran holds a BA in painting from Shahed University. His artistic career includes several solo exhibitions at Delgosha, Atashzad, and Balice Hertling galleries, as well as participation in international group shows. He has also exhibited at prominent art fairs such as FIAC Paris and Art Basel Hong Kong.
Sarabi’s works are marked by a symbolic and primitive approach, deeply rooted in his personal and family experiences. His paintings feature recurring motifs: a white horse symbolizing “the artist himself,” a lion representing “his father,” a black horse for “his mother,” and crimson trees depicting “people who were once present in his life but are no longer.”
Technically, Sarabi primarily works with acrylic on canvas or wood, favoring raw, vibrant, and intense colors inspired directly by nature and traditional Persian carpets. His figures are often rendered in a simple, static manner — a quality influenced by the unpretentiousness of the local people of his hometown.
