Kamal Tabatabaei, an illustrator, designer, painter, and journalist, was born in 1969. In 1997, he earned his Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from the Tehran University of Art, and pursued further studies in Communication at the same institution.
Tabatabaei held his first solo exhibition in 2005 at Azad Art Gallery and has since participated in numerous exhibitions both in Iran and internationally. His works have been featured in prestigious international events, including illustration exhibitions across Europe and Asia, and have garnered recognition at notable events such as the Iran Book Design Annual and the Bologna Children's Book Fair The Illustrators Exhibition.
He has illustrated over 40 books for children and adults and contributed to various publications as a press illustrator. In addition to his artistic practice, Tabatabaei is a member of several professional associations, including the Art Directors Association, the Cultural Association of Illustrators, and the International Federation of Journalists, reflecting his multifaceted engagement in both visual arts and journalism.
