Hossein Shirazi is a calligrapher, graphic designer, and sculptor born in 1987 in Arak, Iran. Although he holds a degree in electronic engineering, he began his artistic path in 2004 by studying traditional calligraphy under master Hadi Roshan-Zamir.
In 2008, Shirazi was awarded the "Momtaz" (distinguished) rank by the Iranian Calligraphers Association, a recognition of advanced mastery in the field. He is also a member of the Institute for the Development of Visual Arts in Iran.
Shirazi’s artistic approach fuses classical calligraphy with modern graphic design, using contemporary compositions to push the boundaries of script as a purely textual medium. His work transforms letters into autonomous visual forms, often navigating the space between meaning and abstraction. Through thoughtful use of color, volume, and spatial dynamics, his pieces convey both emotional depth and cultural nuance.
His first solo exhibition, "Parallel to Imagination," was held in 2023 at Ech Art Gallery, Tehran and his works have since been showcased in numerous solo and group exhibitions.
